Iluka, a luxury holiday rental on Hamilton Island, has been listed for sale at $4.25 million.

The residence was designed by leading Whitsundays architect Chris Beckingham, with the key concept to accomodate two families.

It has two separate lounges, even two outdoor showers.

Its infinity edge black pool looks like a billabong.

The five bedroom house, which fetches to $1,900 a night in peak season, is booked out for the next three months.

During Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, a minimum eight night stay reaps around $16,000.

Wayne Singleton at Hamilton Island Real Estate is marketing the property as the ultimate in luxury and privacy.

Beckingham, a Buddhist architect, also designed the largest mansion in the Whitsundays.

That home spans two amalgamated blocks, next door to the late Beatle George Harrison's former holiday home.

Whitsundays Waters, a newly renovated home long considered one of Hamilton Island's premier properties, has also hit the market. It is for the first time in 20 years.

The north-west facing home was originally built in 1997, then rebuilt eight years ago, with a renovation undertaken just two years ago.

Set on Whitsunday Boulevard, the five bedroom, four bathroom spans over 800 sqm across two levels, with an oversize wrap around verandah making the most of the panoramic vista.

Outside there's a lagoon-style freshwater pool and poolside cabana on the 2000 sqm parcel along with a one bedroom, one bathroom caretakers cottage.

The listing through Wayne Singleton and Boyd Jackson at Hamilton Island Real Estate comes with two golf buggies - a necessity to travel around the carless Hamilton Island.

It comes with an asking price of $6.7 million, which includes all of the contemporary furniture.

The home has been obtaining income of $1,650 a night in the holiday rental market, according to Singleton.

Whitsundays Waters joins a long list of Hamilton Island trophy homes on the market.

Currently there's No City Limits, Southwinds, Jasmine House, Point Blue and Papillon, all on the market for over $3 million.
