Professional investor Seumas Dawes and wife Rosemary Seaton have snappily sold their Bronte investment apartment overlooking the beach pre-auction.

They scored $3.45 million two weeks in to its marketing through Phillips Pantzer Donnelley agents Alexander Phillips and David Tyrell, who had a guide of $3 million.

After paying $1.6 million in 2011, the couple ripped out the old apartment and custom built the 135 square metre, three bedroom, two bathroom unit in the upgraded Wimbourne development.

The Bronte market has seen homes sell in around two weeks, consolidating the beachside suburb as one of the quickest selling in Sydney despite an overall cooling market.

The couple are based nearby where they consolidated two neighbouring Bronte Road properties at a $28.8 million cost.

Dawes invests in private and listed companies, having spent three years as an adviser to then Treasurer of Australia Paul Keating.
