Melbourne based Bruce Woodley, a founding member of the Australian band The Seekers, has sold the family's Sunshine Coast hinterland retreat.

He co-owned the home with former wife Sally and son Dan, the latter living in the home.

It fetched $949,000 after costing the trio $755,000 in 2013. It was bought when the family returned from running a boutique hotel in Bali.

The property features four bungalows, three of which are bedrooms and the fourth a living and kitchen area.

Harcourts Buderim agent Justin Boyanton sold the home which was initialised listed with other agents at $1.6 million in 2016.

Woodley was the main songwriter for The Seekers and was also the co-writer of the well known classic, I Am Australian.
