A $7.55 million three bedroom Woollahra penthouse sale topped weekend auction apartment sales. CoreLogic calculated there was a 71 percent success rate from the nation's 688 weekend apartment offerings, as compared to 81 percent for the 2206 houses that went under the hammer. The 3/19 Rosemont Ave, Woollahra offering sold auction eve last Friday after a $5.8 million offer lobbed with the listing agent Ben Collier at The Agency. The Young family had paid $3.3 million in 2014 for the top floor apartment sitting under a mansard style roof. The triplex was developer by the Michael Hannan, the former executive chairman of the family led IPMG publishing group. Melbourne's top apartment sale was a five bedroom, two storey townhouse at Black Rock. The 1B Third Street duplex was sold by 11 North Property for $2.61 million. The property had previously been three single storey, three bedroom villas. Close to Black Rock village, the near new townhouse had high ceilings, large windows and timber floors. It's pre-auction price guide had been $2 million to $2.2 million based on recent comparable sales advised as $2 million at 13a Florida Ave, Beaumaris and 4b Bolton St, Beaumaris.
