Channel Nine boss David Gyngell lists North Bondi apartment

They've only owned in Bondi for three months, but former Channel Nine boss David Gyngell and his TV presenter wife Leila McKinnon are already jumping ship.

The Dover Heights based couple listed the apartment they bought for $1,675,000, having completed a full renovation of the unit they settled on in May.

It was expected to be an investment for the couple who had Gyngell's sister and interior stylist Briony Fitzgerald undertake the renovation and styling.

They put the apartment up for lease in July at $1,700 a week. It proved too ambitious and was dropped to $1,500 a week by the end of last month.

Now they've decided to list the Ramsgate Avenue apartment.

Spanning a large 114 sqm, the first floor apartment has three bedrooms and one bathroom.

Raine & Horne Double Bay agents Ric Serrao and Dion Markovics have a short marketing campaign with a September 19 auction looming.

The long line of weekend inspectees were being told the price guidance was $1.85 million to $2 million.

The couple, who married at Byron Bay in 2006, spend much of their time too in the Byron Bay district where they have substantial property investments.

Gyngell, the son of the late former Channel Nine boss, Bruce Gyngell and interior designer mother, Ann, had business links to Bondi going back to the late 1980s when he was selling beachwear and surfing equipment.

Late last month it was reported Gyngell pulled out of a proposed $12 million injection of his personal funds into a bid for the Ten Network.

It was believed Nine Entertainment chairman Peter Costello and chief executive Hugh Marks told Gyngell he would have to step down from the Nine board should he go through with the proposal.
