Former wicket-keeper Brad Haddin and wife Karina Castle have sold their investment in Nelson Bay, near Port Stephens, for $580,000.

Haddin paid $459,000 for the Mirvac-built home new in 2008, the year he took over at Test level after Adam Gilchrist hung up the gloves.

Haddin retired from Test cricket in 2015 having played 66 Tests.

The three bedroom holiday home not far from the beach had been returning $410 a week in recent times.

LJ Hooker Nelson Bay agent Jason Brennan was seeking $595,000 for the home. It sold in 33 days.

The couple are based at a four bedroom waterfront in Tennyson Point where they paid $3.05 million in 2010.

Last year they got approval for a new two storey dwelling.

Haddin is still involved in cricket playing in magenta for the Sydney Sixers in the T20 Big Bash League.
