Linc Energy founder Peter Bond has made a loss on one of his Fig Tree Pocket homes.

He's sold the Ningana Street road home (above) for $2.99 million, nearly $750,000 less than the $3.75 million he paid with wife Louise in 2010.

They even fully renovated the home five years ago.

The sale still scored the highest price for a non-waterfront home in the area in nearly two years.

Set on 12,600 sqm, the home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and sits in gardens with a swimming pool and tennis court.

It was bought by a Chinese buyer who intends to relocate and live in the home.

Bond owns the neighbouring home Rivergum Retreat, which has been on the market since late last year (below).

Bought for a pricier $9.5 million in 2009, the home has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
