The Tudor-style Bonnington in Bellevue Hill, the home of the late businessman Neville Christie, has sold for over $20 million.

It had a $20 million guide through Richardson & Wrench agent Michael Dunn, who said there had been considerable interest in the property ahead of its mid-week expressions of interest campaign close.

Built in the 1930s, the six bedroom home was designed by acclaimed architect F. Glynn Gilling.

The result is the highest house sale in the suburb since the nearby Leura mansion set a suburb record at $30.8 million in late 2015 when it sold on delayed settlement terms to businessman and yachtie Wilson Lee  and his wife Bayou Wu by the Allen family.

8 Victoria Rd, Bellevue Hill. NSW Real Estate.

It had been the home of the Christie family for 56 years.

The grand home with a stately entrance hall and formal areas sits on over 2,200 sqm of the Victoria Road dress circle.

It has a wide sandstone entertaining terrace that has panoramic harbour views across the city skyline to the harbour.

The sale comes after another $20 million plus sale in the nearby Darling Point.
