Australian cricket captain Steve Smith buys in Birchgrove
The Australian cricket captain Steve Smith has secured his third acquisition on the Balmain peninsula.
It is a dilapidated three-bedroom Birchgrove cottage that cost $1.95 million when bought from architect David Gole through Danny Cobden, of Cobden & Hayson.
The free-standing Victorian house was marketed as a, “vintage treasure ripe for reinvention” set on its 200 square metre Birchgrove Road holding.
Last year he bought a $2 million Balmain East knockdown then added a $1,345,000 investment townhouse in the Tin Sheds, Beattie Street, Balmain conversion.
He retains his abode as apartment with ocean views in Coogee, which he bought in 2011 for $1.75 million.
He purchased a one bedroom plus study apartment with courtyard in the recently complete Jameson complex in Sans Souci late last year.
