Former Home and Away couple Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds have bought their first Sydney apartment together at Cronulla.

They are rentvestors, given it is has become an immediate investment for the pair while they reside in the US.

The couple, who met in 2009 when Mitchell made his way from Neighbours to the Palm Beach soap, left Home and Away to head to LA.

Since then Mitchell has starred in popular TV shows Agents Of S.H.I.E.LD. and Blindspot, while Breeds has appeared in Pretty Little Liars and The Originals.

Mitchell is currently starring as Roman in NBC's Blind Spot, a crime drama series alongside fellow Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton. 

Just last month it was renewed for a third series.

Breeds was cast as the Miranda Cole, the lead character in legal soap Miranda's Rights last year, however the pilot was passed over.

Mitchell and Breeds have spent $1,425,000 on a three bedroom apartment in the Hordens block not far from the beach.

The first floor apartment with large entertainers' balcony sold after just 10 days through David Kennedy at Chris Burke and Company, well before its scheduled auction.

Its recently been leased by Tyne Curcuruto at Cripps & Cripps Property for $800 a week, reflecting a tight three percent yield.

The purchase is Gold Coast born Mitchell's second in Sydney, buying close to Breeds who has owned a one bedroom apartment in Narrabeen since 2009 when she started dating Mitchell.

Mitchell's purchase came in 2011 when he paid $502,000 for a two bedroom apartment in Freshwater.

Breeds one bedroom Narrabeen apartment cost $490,000 two years earlier. 

The couple met on the set of Home & Away after Mitchell made his TV breakthrough in Melbourne on rival soap Neighbours where he played bad boy Chris Knight for 11 episodes.

Mitchell starred as Romeo Smith in Home and Away in 2009 where he met Breeds who played Ruby Buckton.

Breeds earned two Logie Award nominations including Most Popular Actress the following year, while Mitchell won the Logie for Most Popular New Male Talent.

Breeds made her breakthrough as Cassie Cometti in the third series of Blue Water High.

The couple were engaged in 2012 and wed in early 2013, a bush-themed wedding co-ordinated by Breeds in Kangaroo Valley.

Breeds made her breakthrough in US television in 2012 when it was announced she had been cast in Rob Greenberg's We Are Men.

In 2015 Breeds appeared in the sixth season of Pretty Little Liars and was cast as Aurora de Martel in the supernatural series The Originals.

Mitchell's major US breakthrough was in 2015 when he joined the cast of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the inhuman Lincoln Campbell.

He was promoted to the main cast for the following season.
