Melbourne overtakes Sydney with the highest 2017 home value growth: CoreLogic

Melbourne has emerged as having the highest 12 month growth for home values, according to CoreLogic’s latest report.

The property data firm says that over the past 12 months Melbourne’s home value has increased by 12.9 percent.

This is slightly more than Sydney’s growth of 12 percent.

Melbourne achieved this growth despite a weekly decline of 0.7 percent compared to Sydney’s 0.4 percent decline.

Perth is the only locality where the home value has declined rather than increased with a decline of 4.2 percent over the past 12 months.
