Following their decision to up sticks and move to Vanuatu last year, Today Show weatherman Steve Jacobs and wife Rose have leased their contemporary Coogee mansion.

They asked for $3,500 a week for the modern home that cost them $2.55 million in 2011, which reflects a strong 8.6 percent yield.

The marketing through Ballard Property Group Double Bay agent Helena Colnaric suggested it would suit families.

A 12 month lease was preferred.

Spanning three levels, the four bedroom home just 150 metres from the beach comes with an additional studio above the garage.

Indoor and outdoor living aplenty, the living and dining areas open to the outdoor entertaining area complete with a gas heated, salt water swimming pool.

There are light features from designers Adam Cruickshank and Christopher Boots.

Steve left behind the chilly memories of Melbourne in 2008 with Rose, who had been Foxtel's Weather Channel presenter.

They entered the eastern suburbs market straight away, spending $1.35 million on a three bedroom home in Coogee.

They upgraded to their current home in 2011.

Now the couple are based in Vanuatu with their two daughters, Isabella and Francesca.

Rose told news.com.au that Vanuatu wasn't a flip of the coin choice as they fell in love with the people and the pace of Vanuatu.

A three hour flight from Vanuatu to Sydney meant Steve managed to renegotiate his work schedule.

The $3,500 a week tenant was similar to the asking price of comedian Tim Minchin's nearby Coogee home.

Initially Minchin, who paid $5,875,000 for the home last year, put his pad up for $3,750 a week, however that was reduced to $3,500.
