Fantastic Furniture chief Debra Singh and husband Palvinder are tipped to emerge as the buyer of Glebe's historic The Retreat, perhaps paying $5.3 million.

They are upgrading locally from Leichhardt.

It was sold by One Big Switch co-founder Lachlan Harris through Andrew Liddell at BresicWhitney just 11 months after his purchase of the 1850s Georgian sandstone waterfront for $4.85 million last April.

He bought the home that underwent a restoration by heritage architect Clive Lucas from John Scott, the partner of late antique dealer John Williams.

It comes with wine cellar and tasting room is wrapped in gardens and return verandahs and looks out to Rozelle and Blackwattle Bay.

Singh was made group CEO of Fantastic Holdings last year. She was previously an executive at Woolworths and Dick Smith.
