A Sydney beach house designed by architect Bruce Eeles and tucked away into a subtropical valley only metres from Great Mackerel Beach in Pittwater, has been sold for an undisclosed price in a private treaty negotiated by Kathryn Hall Real Estate this month.

Monikered Bimbimbi (Place of many birds) 51 Monash Ave was a particularly special choice for fans of the outdoors, offering the opportunity to swim, fish, sail, boat or bush walk in the surrounding Ku-ring-gai National Park.

Features of the north facing house included built in wardrobes, Swedish combustion fireplaces, balcony and deck complementing outdoor garden views, fully screened garden with a BBQ area and courtyard, and a studio.

Environmentally sound benefits of the property were also incorporated, such as water efficient appliances, wall and ceiling insulation, a rainwater storage tank, and a greywater system.
