The Brambles chairman Stephen Johns - who was previously an executive at Westfield - and his wife, Michele are heading to the nation's wealthiest postcode.

Title Tattle gleans they have bought in Darling Point, Sydney's 2027 postcode, which according to the Tax Office's latest statistics ranks the residents as averaging taxable incomes of $189,293.

This was a seven percent increase from the $177,500 reported by the residents of postcode 2027 (Darling Point and Point Piper) in the last data release.

Sydney's harbourside suburbs, including Vaucluse, Mosman and Hunter's Hill take out seven spots in the top 10 wealthiest postcodes.

Sydney’s eastern suburbs have retained their title as the home of Australia’s richest residents based on newly released tax return statistics from 2014-15.

The Johns will be departing Bellevue Hill which is ranked the fourth wealthiest suburb.

Stephen Johns has been there at the trophy home, Bellhaven aka as Belhaven since the late 1980s. The 2,244 sq m estate has $25 million plus hopes, having been updated by Howard Tanner.

It was built for the Sunday Times newspaper owner and showbiz entrepreneur Hugh “Huge Deal” Macintosh. Then the Victoria Road property was home to the Resch’s brewing scion Arnold Resch.

From 1942 to 1948 it was run as the Bellhaven Babies Home.

The couple were heading to L'ammare but it seems it is now elsewhere along the promenade.

NSW accounted for seven of the top 10 rated postcodes, while Victoria occupies two rungs at the top of the wealth ladder.

The Melbourne suburb of Toorak is the third-richest, with the Victorian seaside town of Portsea, ranking fifth in the wealth stakes.

The only other state to figure in the top 10 was Western Australia, where Cottesloe/Peppermint Grove secured the ninth spot, just ahead of Sydney’s Woollahra on $144,273.
