Staff ReporterDecember 7, 2020

LJ Hooker Double Bay agent Bill Malouf is looking for a 'Million Dollar Intern'.

The successful candidate will win a three-month, paid position. The position is open to all Australian citizens aged 18 and over who have worked in real estate for less than 24 months or not at all.

Bill Malouf has been named LJ Hooker's annual World Champion Salesperson 15 times. He said  he is very excited to have the chance to unearth the brightest new talent for real estate in Australia.

“I’m looking for someone with the hunger to make this a life-changing experience," he said.

"They may have just finished school, are relatively new to real estate, or have the drive to change careers and succeed in real estate.

“Before I went into real estate, I was a publican. The Million Dollar Intern might also come from out of left field: they could be a chef from Adelaide, a deckhand from North Queensland, an electrician from Perth or a graphic designer from Melbourne. If they have the drive to be the best, it doesn’t really matter what their background is.

“I expect them to put in the same hours as my team because real estate is about customer service, and when someone entrusts to you their valued possession, you have to honour that trust.

“Sometimes the most inconvenient time for my team is the most convenient time for their customers.”

Christopher Mourd, LJ Hooker’s head of real estate said the opportunity to learn from Mr Malouf was a once-in-a-lifetime introduction to the profession.

“Bill is a legend in real estate,” he said.

“He is held in awe by every sales agent in the LJ Hooker network. You would love to pick his brain about real estate for just one day, let alone three months.

“As well as being an incredible wealth of knowledge in the property industry and the Sydney Harbour market, Bill is very affable and has an uncanny ability to relate to people of all walks of life; a skill he no doubt developed in his publican days.

“The Million Dollar Intern is going to have an amazing experience working with Bill in that marketplace and hopefully setting the platform for a similarly successful career.”

During the three-month internship, the Million Dollar Intern will receive:

  • Complimentary accommodation;
  • Lease of an Audi motor vehicle;
  • Their own personalised suite of marketing collateral;
  • An award rate salary;
  • Business attire;
  • NSW real estate certificate of registration;
  • LJ Hooker’s industry-leading real estate training program.
