The prominent Gold Coast lawyer Chris Nyst and wife Julia are selling their newly rebuilt Gold Coast reserve home.

The Southport couple paid $1.05 million for the former 1960s home in 2013 then commissioned its rebuild on exclusive Regatta Parade.

They spent four months adding a new kitchen and extending the upstairs living areas.

The home now comes with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a home office and two living areas, one of which opens to the large entertainment terrace and swimming pool.

A portrait of Chris, sketched by notorious bank robber Brenden Abbott, known as the 'Postcard Bandit', didn't make the listing photos.

They have lived there with their pet groodle, Murphy who is a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle.

Roy London at London Estate Agents has set an asking price of $2.36 million.

Nyste was admitted as a lawyer in Brisbane in 1977 and became a senior partner for Minter Ellison before resigning in 2001 to set up Nyst Lawyers, a boutique litigation practice.

The keen surfer has represented high-profile clients such as One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, surfer Mark Occhilupo and tennis star Bernard Tomic.

Chris is also an award-wining fiction writer and has released three novels, Cop This (1999), Gone (2000) and Crook as Rookwood (2005), as well as releasing two screenplays.

He is writing a new novel and has plans to shoot another crime comedy film in the Gold Coast and Melbourne.
