Researcher Hugh Mackay sells at Exeter

The Canberra bound veteran social researcher Hugh Mackay has sold his Southern Highlands retreat at Exeter.

Set amid 3,080 sqm of gardens, the architect designed brick home was marketed as offering "The Good Life" - a reference to his recent book.

Highlands Property agent Sarah Wotton had a price guide of $1.05 million which was paid by a Sydney buyer for the three bedroom house with home office and two verandah rooms..

Mackay paid $450,000 in 2008 with wife, Sheila.

Hugh has been at the fore of research since the late 1970s. 

Their three bedroom Cammeray townhouse recently sold for $1.96 million.
