Legendary Socceroo and new Brisbane Roar recruit Brett Holman and wife Femke have bought a family home in New Farm.

Holman, who is back in Australia after spending 14 years playing soccer across Europe and Asia, has spent $2.43 million.

It is a contemporary five bedroom, four bathroom home designed by architect Ben Hennig of Mercury Design, which was sold by Ray White New Farm agents Matt Lancashire and Mike Martin after just 25 days on market.

Born in Bankstown, Holman started his soccer career at Parramatta Power in the NSL before joining Dutch club Feyenoord in 2002.

Holman left Holland in 2012 to join Aston Villa in the English Premier League for a season then went on to play in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Much like fellow soccer icon Tim Cahill, it's Holman's first time appearing in the A-League at the tender age of 32. He scored in the 1-1 draw with reigning champions Adelaide.

Holman has represented the Socceroos 63 times, scoring nine goals. He retired in 2014.
