Former Ironman world champion Zane Holmes and wife Kai have sold the Tallebudgera Valley home that Zane built.

Holmes worked on the single level home on 2.75 hectares after paying $280,000 for the land parcel in 2006.

Built with eco-friendly design elements, the five bedroom homes features bamboo flooring, four 1/2 kilowatt solar system and two 7000 gallon water tasks, and a Bio treatment waste water management system.

A saltwater lap pool with poolside deck overlooks the hinterland.

The sale came with no price guide with Harcourts Coastal agent Katrina Walsh, however Holmes had tried to sell it in 2009 with it's listed price at $1.2 million.

The decorated Gold Coast athlete is a five time Nutri-Grain Ironman Series champion, two time world ironman champion and a 2006 Coolangatta Gold champion.

Holmes love of the sport spilled into his business career.

He is the joint-owner of Dolphin Surf Craft, one of Australia's largest manufacturers of custom-made equipment for surf lifesaving competitors.

Holmes and wife Kai have three children, four-year-old twin daughters Navah and Eden and five-month-old son Knox.

It's reported that Holmes and co will look toward the ocean for their next property.
