There's possibly a new Darlinghurst record terrace price with the home of band manager Grant Thomas now sold, perhaps for more than $5 million.

The striking Dale Jones Evans-designed minimalist terrace is mostly concrete, sandstone and glass finishes.

The two storey Surrey Street terrace was built in 1880 and is a five-bedroom property that comes with four bathrooms and four car spaces.

It was initially listed in 2013.

The former Crowded House and Bardot manager bought it in 1999 for $855,000.

The median house price in Darlinghurst sits at $1.7 million, according to CoreLogic.

The Darlinghurst record price for a terrace has stood at $4,625,000 since 2010 for a wide Darley Street corner terrace house, Chimera.
