Calmyle, a 966-hectare cropping property in Queensland's Darling Downs has been sold for $5.6 million to One Tree Agriculture, the subsidiary of the US agribusiness and food giant Cargill.

It is their second farming acquisition in Southern Queensland.

It previously bought Kinbeachie, a 6000-hectare Goondiwindi property in April.

Cargill Australia's investments include Billabong Station in the NSW Eurongilly Valley, a sugar cane farm, Marwood, near Mackay in north Queensland and the $20 million Vaucluse, a 2654-hectare cropping and grazing property near Launceston.
