Built in the early 1960s for the Empire Games, the home at 81 Empire Avenue, City Beach is for sale.

The British Empire games were held in Perth in 1962 which saw 800 international athletes compete.

An athlete’s village was constructed on 65-acres of land to house the international athletes competing.

Mr K Thomas and Mr H Walker won a competition for designing the layout of the village with distinct curved streets and a central parkland.

The family friendly home has three bedrooms and one bathroom, an expansive backyard and a double carport with four extra parking spaces.

The house will go to auction this weekend.

The property is listed through Realmark West Floreat agent Irena Ivanova who has $850,000 plus hopes for the 945 square metre holding.
