Robyn Holt buys Southern Highlands rural acreage

The former Vogue veteran Robyn Holt and her husband, actor Jim Holt, have secured a $1.175 million Southern Highlands retreat.

The purchase comes after the couple sold their stylish Woollahra home for a change of lifestyle, and whispered to be buying an $880,000 bolthole in the Rex at Kings Cross.

Their new purchase, a stark contrast from their city life, is at Exeter.

Set on a large 8828 sqm, the elegant three bedroom home has real timber floors, french doors and a wood fireplace.

The paved outdoor dining areas offers rural and garden views. Plus plenty of space to grow some vegetables.

Kate Maday of One Agency Maday Property Bowral secured the sale.

They said goodbye to their Woollahra property which they bought from DSC Personnel boss Tom Smith for $1.71 million for 2002, shortly before the family moved to Russia following Robyn's appointment as chief executive of Conde Nast and launched Vogue Russia and GQ magazine.

They picked up a tidy profit however, securing a $3.75 million sale for the private two-storey home in March to a doctor.

Designed by renowned 1930s architect F. Glynn Gilling, the three bedroom home had a library and a private courtyard garden. 

The style meister Robyn Holt and her husband, actor Jim Holt, recently became grandparents to Camilla, the first born of their daughter, Hannah.

They met on the set of the 1984 Kennedy Miller miniseries Bodyline.

Holt isn't the first fashion star to call Exeter home.

The style queen Maggie Taberer was a long time Exeter resident during her years at the barn.

The priciest offering in the area is former politician John Hewson's Invergowrie, which has $6.5 million plus hopes.

Exeter is a village with a median house price of $840,000.
