The actress cum author Sophie Lee and her husband, advertising agency boss Anthony Freedman have listed their Bronte home, Shell House.

They bought the Hewlett Street home in 2005 for $3.45 million and now have $10 million plus expectations through D'Leanne Lewis of Laing + Simmons Double Bay.

Set on a 603 sqm block atop a natural sandstone ridge, the four level home with four garage garage has an abundance of outdoor terraces.

Behind the imposing timber door is five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a library and lawned gardens.

There's a cantilevered pool at the front of the house which offers panoramic views of Bronte beach.

In an exclusive enclave of three Wally Barda-designed homes, Shell House gets its name from the shell-like expression of the building form, inside and out.

Lee and Freedman, who have three children, also have a $3.2 million weekend which was bought from fashion designer Collette Dinnigan and her husband Bradley Cocks at Palm Beach in 2014.

Lee has appeared as an actor in roles in Muriel's Wedding, Holy Smoke and The Castle, but she is now better known as an author.

Her works include Alice in La La Land and The Cuckoo's Calling.

Anthony has founded two agency groups. Host - which has offices in Sydney and Singapore - and One Green Bean who have offices in Sydney and London.

The Walter Barda-designed property sits adjacent to Wave House which sold for $15 million last year to Heather Doig, wife of former Pacific Equity Partners managing director Rob Kozckar after being rented by singer Ricky Martin who stayed in the contemporary pad whilst he was a judge on The Voice.

Cricketer Shane Watson grabbed his Hewlett Street home late last year for $9 million.
