Port Melbourne's 1 Dairy Lane premises have been listed with $3 million hopes.

The property was the Barry family’s Ideal Dairy, dating from 1931.

Architect Jackson Clements Burrows has since transformed it into a warehouse-style urban oasis with brick walls, exposed trusses and beams.

There's now under-floor hydronic heating, car turntable, parents’ retreat with study and open-plan indoor/ outdoor living spaces.

It is listed through Hocking Stuart agent David Wood.

When is a pre-purchase building inspection a must?  What do they entail?  How does one interpret the results?  What defects can be fixed and which ones should prompt you to walk away. Jarrod McCabe, associate director, Wakelin Property Advisory and Peter Alexander, building inspector, Safehome Building Inspections present a webinar for Victorian home buyers on April 20. Click here to register.
