Federal MP Clive Palmer's 6258-hectare Mamelon Station, set north of Australia's beef capital Rockhampton, has been listed for March 18 auction.

The property was bought for $8.2 million in 2010 by QNI Metals, part of a joint venture with Queensland Nickel which runs the struggling Yabulu refinery

The cattle station goes to March 18 through Colliers Internationals' Rawdon Briggs and Ben Forrest as its not a core asset of the joint venture.

The property, with frontage to the Bruce Highway, had traded in 2006 for $5.5 million, the Australian Financial Review reported.
