Aussie John Symond and wife Amber might be getting new neighbours this spring on their Point Piper cul-de-sac.

Expat lawyer Sarah Cooke, who resides in London’s Holland Park with her hedge fund husband Dominic Redfern, is set to seek $40 million buyers.

The Wingadal Place vacant block was bought from Gustavo and Angelo Ferella in 2006 for $7.95 million and then had a $5.5 million home designed by James Stockwell and Jonathan Temple Architects.

Many were surprised Symond, who snapped up his 2675sqm holding for $10.5 million in 1999, didn’t buy the 960sqm parcel that stemmed from pastoralist Anthony Hordern’s 1950s subdivision.

On Symond’s other side, work continues for the Song family on turning the $60.66 million trophy home Portofino into a triplex designed by Rob Mills Architects.
