The venture capitalist John Grant has finally sold his Queens Avenue, Vaucluse residence, with eight person lift.

It fetched $12.85 million when bought by Point Piper's Julina Lim.

It was the dress circle avenue's first sale since 2010. Julina Lim is from the Oceania Property Corporation.

John Grant downsized to the nearby Rose Bay Wintergarden waterfront complex from the cul de sac location that houses just 16 homes.

The home was initially listed in 2013 with $16 million hopes, indicating despite the SMH headlines that there is still a big gap between expectation and recovery among trophy home offerings.

Lim sold her knock-down-rebuild on Point Piper's Wolseley Road earlier this year for $28 million to Qinglin Wang.
