A Brighton golden mile waterfront trophy home is tipped to break the bayside suburb's price record.

The triple storey home would need to fetch $18 million plus at its May 19 expressions of interest.

It was the home former St Kilda Football Club president Rod Butterss built.

He sold 39 Seacombe Grove in early 2007 for $11.2 million to current vendor, solicitor John O'Halloran and his wife, artist Cathy Anne Coady-O'Halloran.

Kay & Burton agent Ian Jackson is marketing the listing a year after the record-setting $18 million sale of Shanagolden, at 12 Moule Avenue.
