Queensland real estates no longer have to disclose their commissions, as of Monday.

The changes deregulating agent fees have been largely eclipsed by the other big change in Queensland real estate legislation – the ban of auction price guides.

While the Real Estate Institute of Queensland, who helped push through the changes, acknowledge some real estate agents will probably increase their charges, consumer advocate Neil Jenman urges Queenslanders to question their agents' fees.
