Melbourne Football Club coach Paul Roos and wife, Tami have sold their South Coogee, Sydney home for $5.4 million in an off-market deal.

It follows their spending $2,525,000 on a Melbourne abode.

The South Coogee home (pictured before their purchase) cost $4.86 million in 2010. It was designed by architect Con Hairis for the Emanuele family.

It has been bought by the Fanuli family.

The Elwood, Melbourne purchase by the longtime Sydney residents preceded Roos' decision to extend his term as coach of the Melbourne AFL side.

Roos played 354 games for Fitzroy and Sydney, taking charge as coach of the Swans in 2002. He led the team to the 2005 premiership before handing the reigns over to John Longmire at the end of the 2010 season.

After months of speculation, he was announced as the new coach of Melbourne at the end of last year, taking charge for the 2014 season.

The Elwood property is within walking distance to Elwood beach and the village, where Roos enjoys coffees at the Turtle Cafe.
