A Place to Call Home fans are celebrating confirmation the drama series will return for another two seasons.

Channel 7’s decision to axe the popular Sunday night drama has been reversed, though the third and fourth series will air on Foxtel.

The original cast had been reassembled with filming to resume around Camden and Wollondilly shire early next year with Marta Dusseldorp, Noni Hazlehurst and Brett Climo.

The cast of A Place To Call Home will reassemble for a third series with Foxtel.

“We are proud to partner with the Seven Network on this landmark deal and ensure that audiences can continue to enjoy this beautifully crafted and elegantly produced series for a further two seasons,” Foxtel executive director of television Brian Walsh said.

Fans of the show were unhappy with the show’s demise mid-year as although its ratings were in decline, it was the most watched Australian drama series of 2013.

The Camelot property has been the star of the show.

Producer Chris Martin-Jones said Camelot had the look and the feel of a ‘‘beautiful, old money mansion’’.

‘‘The house is unique, there is nothing else like it,’’ owner Rachel Powers told the local paper, said, adding maintaining the historic house was not cheap, she said so the renewed arrangement was pleasing.
