The Rippon House, on Burns Road, Wahroonga which was designed 45 years ago by the late Gerry Rippon, has been listed for sale.

The vendors Michelle and Michael James want to find a loving custodian who will protect the house.

It remains unaltered in any significant way since designed in 1969 with Rippon's intent to create a canopied treehouse.

It is marketed as uniquely Australian, while gently evocative of Japanese architecture and the works of Frank Lloyd Wright.

There are double-height glass and timber living pavilion to the west, single-storey brick sleeping wing to the east.

Modern House has the offering.
