Actor Rachel Griffiths and her artist husband, Andrew Taylor, have accepted an offer for their Palm Beach retreat.

The sandstone cottage with ocean views had been put on the market launched earlier this month with $2.5 million hopes.

It was sold through Amethyst McKee and David Edwards, of LJ Hooker Palm Beach just two weeks into its marketing with realestate.com.au not making mention of the sale price.

Title Tattle gleans it sold for a tad under expectations.

It typically takes 270 or so days to sell in Palm Beach, well up on the 53 day Sydney average, according to APM data from the Domain Group.

Rachel Griffiths, the Melbourne based actor had bought her isolated Palm Beach home on Whale Beach Road for $735,000 in 1998 from the Lyons family.

It was four years after her Muriel's Wedding film debut

The average price at Palm Beach over the past 18 months has been $2,575,000.

Built in the 1950's from local sandstone cut from the site, and refurbished in 2009 by architect Rob Brown, of Casey Brown Architects, the property is hidden by the Annie Wyatt Reserve, with access via Rockbath Road.
