Geelong forward Tom Hawkins sells Geelong West investment house

Geelong premiership player Tom Hawkins has sold his restored 1920s investment property at Geelong West.

Belafonte, the three bedroom 146 Hope Street house had rear open-plan living and dining, deck and landscaped yard.

It sold through Lee Botsios and Brock Grainger of Fletchers, who while quoting $460,000 to $480,000, secured a $452,000 sale price.

Property Observer understands that Tom Hawkins paid around $410,000 in 2009.

After the sale, the property became available earlier this year for lease at $410 a week asking rental through Release Property Management Geelong, reflecting a 4.7% rental yield.

Hawkins' last asking rental, when it came available in late 2012, was $370 a week. 

RP Data puts the suburb's median house price at a record $442,500.

The house was marketed as conserving its many vintage interior features, while adding contemporary polished concrete floors to make a house with well-proportioned rooms and indoor and outdoor living/entertaining spaces.
