Julia Zemiro secured $910,000 for her Fitzroy apartment at weekend auction with plans to move back to Sydney.

The French-born Zemiro, host of RocKwiz and Eurovision commentator, has shifted back and forth between Sydney and Melbourne over the year, making the somewhat move permanent about 10 years ago.

Her top floor apartment at 14/144 Rose Street cost $455,000 in 2007, and its since been refurbished including the kitchen and bathroom with the aid of interior designer Chelsea Hing.

Bidding opened on the two-bedroom apartment, in a former 1930s Abrahams & Sons paper merchant's warehouse, at $771,000.

Marek Olech, of Nelson Alexander, who had given an initial $700,000 to $770,000 price range, which was raised during marketing to $720,000 to $800,000, announced at $800,000 that the property was on the market.

It sold to the sixth bidder after around 36 bids were posted.

The apartment had open-plan living and dining, an al-fresco dining area, a single basement car park and a storage cage.

Flat 10, a three bedroom, had sold for $793,500 earlier this year having been listed through Roland Patterson at Nelson Alexander at a $799,000 asking price.

There had been an $820,000 sale in 2012 of another top floor apartment which had sold at $460,000 in 2006.

Title Tattle is not aware of any purchase yet made, but the last purchase she co-owned was a Plumer Road, Rose Bay apartment that sold in 2006 at $510,000.

There was a prior Victoria Road, Bellevue Hill apartment and a Bay Street, Ultimo apartment
