Position: Director, office leasing Sydney

Company: Ray White Commercial

Office Location: King Street, Sydney

How long have you been in the industry?

12 years.

What’s happening in the area you specialise in?

I specialise in office leasing in the Sydney CBD. In addition to a number of buildings undergoing major redevelopment within the CBD core, we have Barangaroo coming online in the next couple of years which, once fully committed ,will create a large amount of back fill space in many A grade and B grade assets. Being a leasing agent in the CBD will be interesting times in the next few years.

Describe the most interesting property you have leased?

Without a doubt it would have to be the Museum Of Contemporary Art.

Upon completion of the $53 million upgrade we were appointed on the office project leasing.

It was a fantastic project to be apart of as I got to visit my favorite art gallery nearly every day for meetings and inspections.

We leased a total of nearly 2,000 square metres to the Australian Olympic Committee and a financial consulting firm.

What are the ingredients to being successful in your job?

You need to have great communication skills, willing to be persistent and over service your clients.

Also, its very important to quickly create rapport with prospective tenants.

It's been a tenant market in the CBD post-GFC, meaning tenants have been spoilt for choice for office space.

It's important that when you receive the inquiry that you maintain control of that inquiry.

What aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?

- Meeting different people daily

- Not being confined to my desk all day

- Thrill of the chase

- The feeling of achievement once a deal concludes

Where would you invest a spare $750,000?

I'd buy a little beach shack up the coast, something that can be renovated over the years.

Which football team do you support?

The mighty Roosters!

What’s your favourite app or techno gadget?

Probably my iPad. Use it every day

How do you use social media?

I like LinkedIn for connecting with people on a professional level and posting achievements.
