Top apps every property investor should use

Nicola TrotmanDecember 7, 2020

There are hundreds, if not thousands of property apps currently available to download on the app store. Sometimes its difficult to know which ones are worth the space on your tablet or smart phone, and which ones will sit dormant taking up unnecessary space. Property Observer has compiled a list of five of the best apps currently available for download.

The apps were chosen based on the variety of functions they offered, how easy they were to use and the assortment of individuals they would be suited to.

1. The Commbank Property Guide allows you to view auction results and suburb insights including median prices, rental yields, population and demographics. The app allows you to bring up the last sale price of a property by facing the handset at the home. The app also includes mortgage calculator, links to home loans and house valuation services. Commbank Property Guide is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

2. Tap Mortgage Australia can calculate the stamp duty, including transfer fees, first home concessions and the registration of a mortgage. It also calculates loan repayments, shows summaries and repayments tables including total savings for weekly or fortnightly payments verses monthly payments. Tap Mortgage Australia claims to be the #1 mortgage app for the iPhone. It’s a useful app for property buyers, mortgage brokers, estate agents, conveyances and accountants. Tap Mortgage is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

3. Magic Plan allows you to design your own floorplan by taking pictures of a room, which will measure the room and then draw your floor plan, no measuring needed. Alternatively, you can draw your own on the app and place objects where you desire. You can then access your floorplan as a PDF, JPG or publish it as an interactive floor plan on the web. A great app for craftsmen, architects, interior designers, real estate agents and just those wanting to design their dream home. MagicPlan is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

4. Houzz Interior Design Ideas has a huge range of design ideas with over 2 million photos. The app says you can browse photos by style, room and location and save them to your virtual idea book – like clipping design magazines to a scrap book. The app is filled with design ideas, from storage to décor. This app is perfect for anyone – home owners, renters, architects, interior designers, the list goes on. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

1. The realestate.com.au app is a free and easy to use property search app. It allows you to search properties to buy or rent and view them via a map or a list. You can check open for inspection or auction times and save them to your calendar, and also get directions to properties. The realestate.com.au app is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
