Record price for Kostya Tszyu in Carrs Park

The Carss Park mansion of the champion boxer Kostya Tszyu and his wife, Natasha, has been sold for $2.9 million.

It had been listed with $2.88 million-plus hopes hopes through Sasha Tasic and Greg Tsaprazis at McGrath Estate Agents.

It had been passed in at $3.25 million on its initial July 2012 offering.

The six-bedroom, six bathroom residence had been renovated and extended since the couple bought it for $785,000 in 2000.

The 2,400-square-metre property has resort-style facilities including a tennis court and heated saltwater pool.

The Benwerrin Avenue property set a suburb record which was $2.45 million for a late 2008 sale of a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom house on a 1,865-square-metre Gnarbo Avenue block.

The Russian-born Tsyzu comes and goes from his homeland.
