How long have you been in the industry?

30 years.

What’s happening in the area you specialise in?

Industrial investment properties are hot. Transaction volumes are up, yields are down!  Investors are taking a more sophisticated approach and debunking the myths around “specialised” assets, such as refrigerated logistics facilities.

Describe the most interesting property you have sold?

I sold Australia’s Antarctic Division Headquarters in Kingston, Tasmania on a sale and leaseback to the federal government.  It is used as a storage and administration base for Australia’s Antarctic expeditions and included a visitor centre for the general public.

What are the ingredients to being successful in your job?

Always maintaining a service mentality and anticipating and acting on clients’ needs before they ask the question.

What aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?

Client relationships; the camaraderie and friendships at CBRE; the competition and thrill of beating the opposition.

Where would you invest a spare $750,000?

Evenly distributed amongst Australia’s industrial REIT’s.

Which football team do you support?

Hawthorn in the AFL.  I serve on a sub-committee at the club.

What’s your favourite app or techno gadget?

I couldn’t get by without my iPad!

How do you use social media?

I’m a Linkedin convert and dabble in Twitter from time to time to share thoughts and important information with a wider audience.
