Harry Triguboff’s Meriton has received the green light from the Planning Assessment Commission for its proposed Lane Cove residential apartments.

Construction can commence on the former Shell service station site in February, and has an expected completion date of 2015.

Located at 150 Epping Road, the development will feature the suburbs tallest residential tower and will include a convenience store and onsite childcare.

Conybeare Morrison International architects won a local design competition with their artist’s impression inspired by the sandstone and native vegetation from nearby Lane Cove National Park.

Triguboff splashed $39 million earlier this year to secure the site from Bob Rose’s Rose Group.

The site is approved for a concept plan of approximately 440 apartments with buildings ranging from six to 20 storeys, with 645 car spaces, 1,500 square metres of commercial and retail space and a 1850-square-metre community centre.
