Home ownership rate among young dips
Matt Cowgill, the "Economics-talking guy at the Australian Council of Trade Unions", tweeted that the home ownership rate among 25-34 year olds has dipped below half.
He put out a picture of the Grattan Institute graph showing home ownership rates by age cohort.

This has recently been a much-talked about topic, with Property Observer writing about government policies favouring the wealthy property owners, rather than renters
Observer Catherine Cashmore also weighed in on the debate and the problem with negative gearing for those trying to enter the market.
While the REIA agrees with the Grattan Institute's comments, they still say that negative gearing should be left alone.
