Australand has announced the launch of Metro, the newest residential building in the masterplanned community Discovery Point, following continued strong buyer demand.

Located 10 kilometres from the Sydney CBD in Wolli Creek, some 400 apartments have sold in the last two years at Discovery Point and upon completion, Discovery Point will include 1,800 apartments.

Metro (pictured below) is located in the heart of the community and will include 70 one- and two-bedroom apartments.

One-bedroom apartments range in price from $410,000 to $515,000 and range in total size from 60 square metres to 72 square metres.

Two-bedroom apartments range in price from $555,000 to $725,000 and range in total size from 78 square metres to 125 square metres.

Australand NSW residential division general manager Nigel Edgar says Metro offers an opportunity to enter the inner Sydney market.

“We anticipate the launch of Metro will prove extremely popular with first home buyers, investors and owner occupiers looking for a property that complements a metropolitan lifestyle,” says Edgar.

“Metro will offer a lively atmosphere with close proximity to the neighbourhood park and village square where the cafes, restaurants, supermarket and speciality shops will be perfect for socializing and dining.

“Buyers are embracing the urban lifestyle and placing great priority on the facilities that are available to them in addition to their new apartment,” says Edgar.

Metro will also include a landscaped podium with a pool, gym and community centre.

It is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.

The first five stages at Discovery Point are sold out with apartments still available in Watervue and Summit (pictured below).

The median apartment price in Wolli Creek is $505,000, a 22.7% change in the past five years, according to RP Data.
