Auction listings continue to fall in the second week of August

Auction listings across the capital cities are continuing to fall in the second week of August, with 1,273 scheduled, according to RP Data.

Auction volumes across the capital cities dropped from 1,441 the previous week to 1,284 last week.

However, the clearance rate strengthened from 65.3% the previous week to 69.6%.

At the same time last year, the clearance rate was substantially lower at 49.9%, as were auction volumes at 945.

Melbourne’s auction listings also dropped slightly from 637 the previous week to 584 last week.

The clearance rate in Melbourne increased slightly from 68.7% the previous week to 69.7% last week.

Melbourne has a slight increase in auction volumes this week, with 616 scheduled.

Sydney’s auction listings dropped briefly from 469 the previous week to 460 last week.

Sydney’s clearance rate increased slightly from 77.3% the previous week to 78.4% last week.

Sydney is almost on par with last week, with 459 auctions scheduled for the coming week.

At the same time last year, Sydney’s clearance rate was substantially lower at 54.2% with 323 auctions.
