Scheduled auctions back to normal as we wave goodbye to the Queen's Birthday: RP Data

As we farewell the public holiday, scheduled auction volumes are back to normal with 1,700 scheduled across the capital cities this coming week, according to RP Data. 

There were only 763 auctions last week, compared to 1,845 the previous week, with RP Data contributing the volume of auctions last week to the long weekend.

All states bar Perth had a long weekend.

The clearance rate decreased from 72.2% the previous week to 62.6% last week.

At the same time last year, there were 629 auctions with a clearance rate of 42%.

Melbourne auction volumes decreased dramatically last week to a revised figure of 196, compared to 867 auctions the previous week.

Melbourne’s clearance rate also dropped to a preliminary rate of 70%, down from 79.7% the previous week.

At the same time last year, Melbourne held 157 auctions and had a clearance rate of 38.6%,

For a change, Sydney held more auctions last week than Melbourne, with a revised figure of 381 and a clearance rate of 67.7%.

Sydney held 639 auctions the previous week with a higher clearance rate of 75.2%.

At the same time last year, Sydney held 278 auctions and had a clearance rate of 49.8%.
