A four bedroom Eastwood townhouse sale topped the weekend's sales in Sydney at $1.91 million.

The 194 sq m townhouse was sold by Stone Real Estate agent Jeff Jianfu Luo.

The townhouses were constructed after Brickworks sold its Austral Eastwood brickworks site in 2007 to the home builder for $70 million.

The inner northwest Sydney site dates back to the Great Northern Brick Co established in 1912 with kilns and chimneys from the old brickworks, which closed in 2003, retained.

AVJ agreed to pay $70 million for the 14.7ha brickworks and quarry site.

Austral Brickworks owner Brickworks Ltd had embarked on housing redevelopment plans for the site in 2002 in a venture with Clarendon Property Group, which failed to proceed after it was acquired by Investa Property Group in 2005.

Melbourne saw a 57 percent success rate with a $640,000 median from its 107 sales.

Its top sale was 2/113 Esplanade, Williamstown for $2,275,000.
