House featured in American Horror Story hovers on the market

The house featured in the hit 2011 show American Horror Story is for sale for US$4.5 million. 

The six-bedroom, five-bathroom house was designed by architect Alfred Rosenheim as his own home when he moved to Los Angeles in 1903. It includes a three-storey main house and a detached ballroom, which is now used as a recording studio. Tiffany stained and plain glass features throughout. 

It was first listed in January 2009 for US$7.5 million, was removed from the market in April 2010 and was relisted in January 2011 at its current asking price, according to the Trulia Luxe blog.

The Harmon family moves into the house in the American FX show American Horror Story, unaware that it is haunted by ghosts from a murder-suicide. The show's pilot was shot on location, with further episodes shot on a sound stage designed to replicated the Rosenheim house exactly.
