A six-storey house overlooking Lake Tahoe in Nevada, in the US, has been listed with price hopes of $43 million. The owners, Linda and David Shaheen, began building the 836-square-metre house in 2001, and it was finished in 2010.
Only the garage is visible from the street, as the rest of the house is built into a slope overlooking the lake. Its walls are angled glass and it includes a spiral glass stairway and glass lift to all six levels. It includes a steel pier out into the lake, a gym and a spa.
According to the Wall Street Journal the Shaheens, who were in the carpet business, bought the land for $2.7 million and tore down the existing structure. The house is being marketed by Coldwell Banker agent Charlyn Enstad.
