Cove House, on the Gold Coast's Sanctuary Cove, has been listed for sale.

The Cove House at Sanctuary Cove has hit the market after taking out the national home building industry’s top prize at the 2020 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards in May.

Owner Tracey Morland engaged her cousin, architect Justin Humphrey, to design the subtropical waterfront home.

The riverfront home at 7366 Marine Drive was built in 2018 by BJ Millar Constructions using natural materials of concrete, timber and stone, and includes a large master bedroom and ensuite, two guest bedrooms – each with a bathroom – and a home office.

The north-facing residence incorporates garden atriums throughout the interior design, to separate living spaces while connecting to the exterior environment.

Mrs Morland told REA that she listed the property for sale after purchasing a vacant riverfront site at Bayside Close, Sanctuary Cove, where she and Mr Humphrey will embark on another project.

She described the new project as, “one last hurrah”, following the thrill of The Cove House being named Australian Home of the Year, as well as picking up this year’s award for the HIA Australian Custom Built Home.

The house occupies a 966 sqm lot and exists almost completely self-sufficiently on a 15 kw solar system, Tesla energy storage batteries and a submerged rainwater tank under the driveway.

It is marketed by Matt Gates of Ray White Prestige Gold Coast Surfers Paradise.
